What are your big audacious intentions for 2020?
We’re almost at the end of the year, the end of a decade!
And as well as spending some time reflecting over your achievements of 2019, I’d advise you to start thinking about what you want in 2020.
Those big bad audacious goals. Those goals that make you shrink back a little bit.
This is the time to start thinking about what you could achieve in 2020 and then with a little bit of planning work out how you’re going to get there!
How do you want to feel in 2020?
So, the first place to start is thinking about how you want to feel in 2020.
Do you want to feel calm, joy, happiness, togetherness, peace, excited, abundant, magical, in your zone of genius, alive, exuberant, luxurious, serenity, vivacious, recognised, free, loved, grounded?
You have to walk around living and breathing in 2020, so you might as well think about how you want to feel.
That way it can act as an anchor for you in 2020. You can ask yourself ‘am I feeling how I want to right now’ and if you’re not you can then decide to move on or change the situation.
My word for 2019 was joy. How can I feel more joyful day to day? It felt less pressurised to me than happiness, as you can find pockets of joy in the most mundane things.
It led me to ask myself if events were giving me joy? If they weren’t I either worked to change them or said no and moved on.
This year my word is magic. I want to find more magic in my life. I love the law of attraction and I can sometimes forget how powerful it is and how combined with action it produces amazing results in my life. So you might find me a little more woo woo in 2020!
Once you’ve come up with your feeling for 2020, think about how this already rears its head in your life. You might start realising you already have a lot of that feeling and all you need to do is start consciously looking and noticing it when it arises.
Setting an intention for 2020
The next thing I want you to do is set an intention for 2020.
This is where your big audacious visions come in. What do you want for 2020? How do you want to be.
Shonda Rhimes knew what she was doing when she had her year of yes – that was her intention to say yes and see where that would lead her.
So what could your intention be?
Setting an intention allows you to be super focused on what you want, and to recognise your values, raise your emotional energy and provides a roadmap for how you want to live your life.
So could 2020 be the year that you choose to be more in tune with nature, or design a life you love, heal yourself from your past, be open to opportunities, deepen your relationships or have more balance in your life.
In fact Inc magazine suggests setting an intention every day - but that might get a little tiresome!
My intention for 2020 is to step into my power. Combined with magic I think that’s going to be a pretty audacious year!
What do I do next?
Now there is a lot of advice on the internet about setting intentions and what not. And some of the advice will tell you to set your intention, then let it go and let the universe do the rest.
But of course I don’t believe that.
Magic plus action is the key!
So once you’ve discovered how you want to feel and you’ve set your intention I want you to think how you can actually make this a reality.
Now if you’ve been following me for a while there are 2 things in business I love. Cutting the year up into 90 day chunks and the power of 3.
So simply looking at the first 3 months of the year what 3 actions can you take to make your intention and the way you want to feel a reality?
Now for me wanting to step into my power and invite more magic into my life I am going to.
1. Start working with a new business coach who focuses on a little bit of magic
2. Open the doors to my Indie Freedom Seekers community starting with a Facebook Live Challenge in January
3. And commit to regular exercise, so that I’m looking after myself and can truly step into my power.
What 3 things can you do to move you closer to how you want to feel and your intention for the year?
