Let's talk about fear

Let’s talk about fear..

I wanted to say thank you. I had so many responses to my post about my experience with cancer and I had so many private messages, so many emails.

Now, one in two of us is going to have cancer, which means it's either you or somebody that you love, and I'm acutely aware of how beautiful and short life could be, and how we really need to grab it with both hands.

Grab the bull by the horns. Life is short. All those kinds of cliches. They're actually real.

Thank you so much for sharing your stories with me. It's been really lovely, sad, heart warming to hear about other people's experiences of death of cancer, of their own stories and their loved ones' stories.

And here's the thing. In our lives, in our businesses, we often play it safe and stay in this place where we feel comfortable. Now, that can be an uncomfortable comfortable place. We stay with partners that we should've left ages ago. We stay in jobs that we're not happy in. We don't do things and move forward because we're frightened of where we're going to go. We're frightened of what might happen. We're frightened of being successful. We're frightened of failing. We're frightened of other people's perceptions of us. We're frightened of being judged, and so we stay where we are. But if really life is short, what would you do differently? And it is, life is short.

I was at a conference and we were asked to write down a list of our fears. The things that we're not doing because we're frightened. I wanted to invite you to write down your fears. The things that you would love to do, whether that's leaping out of a plane, launching an online course, starting a business, walking out that door and changing your life.

You know you've been putting it off if you're procrastinating. If you keep thinking it won't work, if you're worried about what people think about you. If you're frightened of the alternative. Write down all those things that you're fearful of, and then commit to doing one of them in the next 90 days.

Commit to doing something that you're fearful of, whatever that might be, because, hey, we can do anything we want to do! We can make our businesses anything we want them to be. Don't let the fear, the procrastination, the worry, stop you building your best life, creating financial freedom, creating success, whatever that looks like to you.

I'd love to hear what things that you're fearful of, and if you're going to bite the bullet and go for it, what are you going to go for?
