I’m talking about small businesses here, coaches, nutritionists, people who run their businesses mostly on their own. What makes people AMAzing at running their own businesses?
How can we be amazing at running our own businesses?
Work smarter
First thing I wanted to say here, is that around 99% of us are not happy with the first, second or even third version of their website. Either it just doesn’t feel right, we know it should be working harder, the messages can seem a little muddled, we’re not sure if anyone is going there, how to get them there, or even if we want to send them there.
However, your website is your shop window to the online world.
Now we all know businesses should be on social media these days. If you aren’t there exciting your future customers, your competition will be. But how can you work smarter with social media so that it gives you better results and saves you time?
This is the number one question my clients want answered! And while I won’t be able to give you all the tips I give my clients, I’m going to lay bare my top 5 tips!
So as a digital marketing expert, I’m always looking at how others do things and how I could improve how I do things. Things I can pick up, lessons learnt, ideas sought.
Being freelance and learning about social media in an ever-changing landscape can be exhilarating and fraught. Where once words and a well-placed image was enough to capture someone’s interest, now we have live streaming, blogs, webinars, tutorials, vlogs and more. So as much as I am supporting my clients to understand the rich capabilities of the new marketing landscape, I’m also learning as I go, reading blogs, watching webinars and adding to my knowledge.
I’ve recently become involved in a new business in Nottingham, with 3 other wonderful women in business that I’ve worked with on various different projects.
What we all have in common (apart from being women!) is that we believe business can and should do good. That profit doesn’t have to equal bad practice, that business can make a difference, and have a positive effect on society.
Time. It’s a measured thing, it never stops ticking away, and there is a finite amount of it. Alongside marketing, you’re actually running your business, getting new customers, networking, invoicing, emails, sorting tax returns and on and on. So we’re agreed time is a resource we all want more of!
In this blog we’re going to be talking more about the timing of things, well the timing of Facebook precisely, so that we can save time on other areas of our business.
Can you feel it? Autumn is coming! Where did all the sunshine go? Poof, just like that and it's vanished!
There is a candle burning in my office and the heating is on low. This is it – autumn.
And strangely there is a putting all the pieces back into their place feeling. A let’s plan and get a strategy together to see us through the winter. A ‘where are all the nuts’, ‘where do we store all the nuts’, ‘do I have enough nuts to see me through’ feeling.
We all get it sometimes, even the best of us. Looking over the garden wall, seeing what they’ve got, wishing you had as much energy, style, charisma, clients, twitter followers, knowledge & anything else they’ve got that you want more of.
It can be tiring constantly wishing you had more of everything. Also down right depressing! We all want more, of everything, all the time!
